The Andrews Dallas Township Public Library began in 1906 when 11 women decided to each donate one book and $1.00 to start a library. The library’s current facility was built in 1926 and paid for by subscription, donations, fundraisers, and a generous donation from Ellwood Patterson Cubberley.
In 1937, a film crew traveled through Andrews and many neighboring areas, documenting the people of the area. The film made of Andrews is available at the library on DVD; the DVD also includes 2 clips from the WFYI television show, Across Indiana. The DVD can be borrowed, using your library card or purchased for $10. Proceeds from the sale of the DVD go toward library improvements.
